| Jean Dumangin Premier Cru Carte d'Or Champagne
2008 GOLD MEDAL AWARD at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
This elegant Champagne is outstanding! It regularly surpasses the Grande Marques (the major well known brands) in blind tastings. It has even scored higher points than top Champagnes retailing at £75.00 per bottle!
Appearance: Fine and discreet bubbles with a pale yellow gold colour.
Nose: This champagne is powerful and expressive to the nose. In all, it is rich while retaining a great deal of distinction and delicacy. The aromatic notes are reminiscent of stone fruits (peach) and dried flowers. The nose has a final toasted note.
Palate: Lively in attack, the impact of this champagne on the palate is very consistent with the nose, with floral notes and notes of dried stone fruit. The champagne is smooth with notes of stewed fruit (galette aux pommes - round, flat cake made of puff pastry with apples) at the heart of the palate.
The final expression of this brut is aromatically more fleeting, but the incisiveness rounds off the end of tasting well.
Ideal for: Aperitif, start of meal. |
